Life is not lost by dying, life is lost by minute by minute, day by dragging day, in all the thousand small uncaring ways.

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.
Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements and to store his few possessions. But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky.
The worst had happened; everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger. "God, how could you do this to me!" he cried. Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied.
It is easy to get discouraged when things are going badly. But we shouldn’t lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground– it just may be a smoke signal that summons The Grace of God.

One day a father and his rich family took his young son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose of showing him how poor people can be. they spent a day and a night in the farm of a very poor family. When they returned from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"Very good, Dad!"
"Did you see how poor some people are?" the father asked.
"Yeah!"
"And what did you learn?"
The son answered: "I saw that we have a dog at home, and they have four. We hava a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden, while they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lamps in the garden, and they have the stars. Our patio reaches to the front yard, they have a whole horizon."
When the little boy finished, his father was speechless.
His son added, "Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are!"
Isn’t it true that it all depends on the way you look at things? If you have love, friends, family, health, good humor and a positive attitude towards life, you’ve got everything!
You can’t buy any of these things. You can have all the material possessions you can imagine, provisions for the future,etc..,but if you are poor of spirit, you have nothing.
It all depends on how you look at things.
